PRINCIPAL’S MESSAGE

Welcome to the Banta Elementary School website!  I am so glad that you have stopped by to learn more about our school and our district.  On this site you will find information regarding our school, our activities, our upcoming events and hopefully you will get a small taste of the wonderful culture that makes us Banta.  As the principal of Banta , I have the privilege of introducing you to our school where we strive each and every day to help children be the very best versions of themselves that they can be.

We are committed to preparing all of our students to lead happy, healthy, and productive lives.  Our goal is to encourage all  students to strive to become informed citizens who are prepared to participate in a culturally diverse society.  Our school’s mission statement is one that all staff members take to heart each and every day: With integrity and compassion, Banta Elementary School promotes a commitment to excellence, while empowering each individual to strive for the character, knowledge and skills necessary to make a positive difference in our world.

At Banta , we strive to provide students with a safe learning environment where they are supported and challenged academically.  Our very dedicated and high qualified staff uses Common Core, STEM and NGSS standards and curriculum combined with effective instructional strategies to meet the needs of our student population.  We use continuous assessment and data to inform our instruction and develop learning goals for our students.

At Banta we want all of our students to have good values and strong character.  But good character doesn’t just happen.  We believe that it is up to each of us to lay a solid foundation for character development by teaching children right from wrong and by acting as positive role models.  Banta uses the Character  Counts program to instill the character traits of Trustworthiness, Respect, Responsibility, Fairness, Caring, Citizenship, Integrity, Perseverance, Determination and Excellence.  Character + PRIDE = Banta!

Parent and community involvement play an integral role in the success of Banta .  Our Parent Faculty Association (PFA) works closely with staff to support and enrich our school programs.  We also work directly with outside community groups in providing our students with links to real life experiences.  We are proud of the commitment from our students, staff, families, and community members  in making Banta Elementary School a place where children thrive and are given every opportunity to succeed.

I hope you’ll take a look through our page, and stop by the school office next time you are out in the country.  We’d love to meet you, and show you around our school.  Depending on which day you come , just keep an eye out for the tractor in the parking lot, the turkeys in the office, or the line for tacos.  You’ll definitely want to stay for the tacos!
